Who Should Pay For The Repairs: The Landlord or The Tenant?
My key recently broke in my lock and I had to pay $50 to get the broken key out and get lubrication for the lock. I think my landlord should pay for the repairs, but my landlord thinks that I should pay. The lease states this. . .
Lessee shall keep the premises and furniture, furnishings and appliances, if any, and fixtures which are leased for said Lessee's exclusive use in good order and condition and pay for any repairs to the property caused by Lessee's negligence or misuse or that of Lessee's invitees. Lessor shall otherwise maintain the property.
What do you all think? Was I neglecting or misusing my lock? And more importantly, who should pay for the repairs: the landlord or the tenant?
